Mechanical Engineering Technician

Key Responsibilities Include

• Assemble and install mechanical assemblies on road transport tankers in support of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists.
• Modify assemblies and components in the hydraulic and pneumatic systems of the tanker.
• Perform tests on mechanical systems, collect and analyse data, and support system evaluation efforts.

Auto Electrician/Electrical Engineering Technician

• Complete electrical wiring for the manufacture of road transport tankers and their associated ancillary equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues on new and used road transport tankers, including occasional off-site work.

Fitter (General)

Key Responsibilities Include

• Fit and assemble metal parts and subassemblies to fabricate production machines and other equipment on the road transport manufacturing line.
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings, layout plans, and job specifications.
• Assist in preparing surfaces for welding, including cleaning, grinding, and aligning components.
• Carry out drilling, grinding, cutting, and other fabrication tasks as needed.
• Work closely with welders, fabricators, and engineers during assembly stages.
• Support hydraulic and mechanical fitting work (e.g., hose fittings, brackets, supports).
• Perform basic checks for fitment accuracy using measuring tools
• Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Report issues with materials, tools, or design specifications to the supervisor.
• Assist with pressure and leak testing setups when required.



To be successful in this role, we seek candidates with the following skills

• Relevant Certificate IV or at least 2 years relevant work experience.
• Ability to read and understand basic fabrication drawings.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and basic workshop machinery.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical assembly and fabrication practices.
• Physically fit and able to handle heavy tools and components.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Team player with good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in tanker, trailer, or heavy vehicle manufacturing.
• Basic welding or fabrication skills are an advantage.

Apprentice Welders & Fabricators

As an Apprentice Welder & Fabricator, you will undertake a Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade as part of a 4-year apprenticeship. You will receive fully funded trade school training, applying your skills to real-world projects while gaining hands-on experience in welding, fabrication, and metalwork. With on-the-job training, access to tools, and support from experienced professionals, you’ll build the expertise needed for a successful career in fabrication.

We are looking for motivated individuals who are eager to learn and grow in the industry. While experience in manufacturing or hands-on work is beneficial, a strong work ethic and a passion for craftsmanship are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Selecting equipment and metal stock while planning layout, assembly and welding processes
• Fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment
• Cuts marked-out metal segments and shapes using tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines; shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools; heating and hammering, grinding and polishing internal welds
• Set up equipment and weld parts for aluminium and stainless-steel products in conformance to specifications.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions
• Carry out repairs and maintenance on products when requested
• Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines, compliant with all company OH&S policies
