“…passion for the road transport industry”
“The Byford team went to work creating firsts such as redesigning the man-hole entrance at the bottom of the tanker barrel for improved safety, and placing the pumping equipment module on the prime mover to reduce the tanker’s tare weight. Then there were countless developments to get the trailer’s centre of gravity to its lowest and therefore safest point. Other initiatives included producing hydraulically ‘blown’ bulk heads for greater strength, rolled baffles to take the constant surge pressures and shorter and deeper 30,000 litre tanks. Over time, Byford has produced trailers for the chemical, wine and milk industries from semis, to B-Doubles – all created with infinite respect for the end user, including the supply of BPW axles and suspensions. So what has driven this business to apply so much in the development of their product range? ‘Passion for the road transport industry; a trait which both my wife, daughter Belinda and the rest of our staff share,’ said Gary.”

“…hands on service”
“Why do we choose Byford Equipment Tankers? Firstly, quality. The attention to detail. The hands-on service. They have great ideas; they work with us and are happy to bounce around ideas with us. We are quite different in Queensland to the Victorian market. Byford Equipment has worked with us to streamline their tanker design to suit our Queensland farm requirements.
We recently purchased a tanker from Byford’s – and on delivery we realized it needed a minor modification. Gary Byford flew up personally, put on his overalls and attached the parts – that’s impressive service.”
