No Crying Over Spilt Milk

The safe transportation of milk is a key element of Fonterra’s transport success. That’s why the national dairy-food product company selected Byford Equipment to supply twenty-three 19m and three 25m B-Double tankers – with a design that has been dubbed by Byford as the ‘Safety Tanker’.

The key ingredient to Fonterra’s Australian expansion is the way the business goes about improving the efficiencies of transporting bulk milk and the rationalisation of processing it into ‘leading brand’ dairy based products.

With annual revenues of over $A3 billion, the Fonterra Australian and New Zealand business unit is the largest consumer foods company in Australasia.

It’s been almost 30 years since husband and wife team, Gary and Irene Byford decided that they would build tanker trailers. Not your ordinary kind, but ones that were good enough to wear the family badge.
